Nobayon: Celebrating Noboborsho 1424

In the backdrop of the 1424th year of the Bengali Calendar and the vibrancy of the Toronto summer, four enthusiastic student organizations are delighted to celebrate the very best of Bangladeshi culture through food, music, dance, and the cultural arts. The BSA-UTSG, UTM-BSA, BSAR, and YBSA are coming together to present to you our Boishakh rendezvous, “Nobayon”.

Pohela Baishakh or the first day of the Bengali Calendar has traditionally been a celebration of the rich culture, heritage, and literature of the Bengal region. From the traditional Panta Bhaat to different kinds of Bhortas, from the delicious Hawai Mithai to our favorite Khichuri-our collaborative venture promises to enthrall its audience through a celebration of Bangladeshi delicacies. Furthermore, the festivities of Bengali literature and contemporary Bangladesh through our performances and artistic expressions will surely bring a sense of excitement at the end of the winter exam season. Henna, face-painting, and our delicious Kacha-Aam, amongst other wonderful activities, are FREE with your tickets!

Nobayon promises to be an outdoor carnival of colors and a united celebration of Bangladeshi-based student groups in and around Toronto. We hope you can join us in the celebration of the 1424th year of the Bengali Calendar. Venue: Wilson Lounge, 40 Willcocks St., Toronto, ON M5S 1C6
